Prosthesis made entirely from resin with overdenture attachments regardless of
their make or type are exposed to possible fracture at the point in which the
attachments are inserted. A cast reinforcement will prevent the prostheses from
breaking. With the OT Box bar, the reinforcement is created directly on the
master model without duplicating it.
Every laboratory is able to cast, even without any special equipment, the cast
reinforcement, complete with the container for the retention caps. Any type of
alloy may be used for the casting. The optimal result of the retention caps
occurs in the metal housing (either cast or prefabricated) that are constructed
with a tolerance, calculated to permit the perimeter of the opening of the cap
to give when it is inserted thanks to the elastic characteristics of the
material.
The metal housing offers a considerable advantage even when the cap has to be replaced,
it is a procedure that can be done in one quick simple step. Even when the cap is
directly attached to the resin, the elasticity and the width of the material permit,
even if less, an elastic movement of the perimeter during insertion of the sphere.
